Sew Red Book REVIEW and GIVEAWAY!

I'm so excited to have been asked by  Jimmy Beans Wool to do a review on their amazing book
SEW RED!

This beautifully photographed book is for anyone who loves to sew and it's dedicated to raising awareness in the prevention of Heart Disease which sadly is the number 1 killer of women in the US.

I think that creativity reaches it's maximum potential when a good cause in mind.   This book is proof!

It's jam packed with patterns, commentaries, and tips  from some of my favorite fabric and pattern designers a few of which are my own personal friends! Designers included are Patty Young, Kay Witt, Anna Maria Horner, Tula Pink, Amy AND David Butler, Valorie Wells, Ty Pennington, Denyse Schmidt, Nancy Zieman, Aneela Hoey, Vanessa Christensen, Kaari Meng, Linda Lee, Me and My Sisters Designs, Ellen March, Anna Griffith, Kaffe Fassett, Brett Bara, Suede, Jenean Morrison, Sweetwater, Marcia Harmening, Kristen Ashbaugh-Helmreich, Mark Cesarik, Saremy Duffy, and Anna Cohen! Wow, what a list.

I have spent many nights lying bed looking through it's vibrant Red and White pages and reading about the creative people who brought it to life. Words can not do it justice, you have to see it for yourself!

Just to entice you a little bit more, I've selected a few morsels to give you a taste for whats inside...

I'm so in love with this belt by Anna Maria Horner...

I'm totally making this quilt by Tula Pink for one of my girls bedrooms...

Everyone needs a skirt by the very talented Kay Whit...

My dear friend Patty Young designed this darling purse...

I neeeeed it!

There is so much more, but you'll have to get the book to see it all :)

Now here's the fun part! One of my Lucky readers is going to win their own FREE copy of this book. Just leave a comment here and you will be entered in the giveaway.  Spread the word to your friends and family and help support the book and it's cause. Don't forget to leave your email so I can contact if you win. Entries will be accepted until Midnight March 17th! The winner will be announced March 18th.

Sew Red is one of many unique Stitch Red products created by numerous manufacturers and designers in the Sewing, Quilting, and Needlearts industries to raise awareness about heart disease in women. The book retails for $22.95, and a portion of its proceeds benefits the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health in support of The Heart Truth®, a national awareness campaign for women about heart disease, sponsored by the NHLBI.

What a great idea! Heart disease runs in the family - was one of the things that my mother dealt with most of her life and my fondest memories are of her sewing clothes for herself, my sister, and me. (Except for when it was hemming time! I had a hard time being still.) It was her machine I used to sew my first stitches. Thanks for the giveaway!

Awesome looking book, wonderful review and such a great cause. Thank you for the giveaway opportunity. Heart disease runs in my family. It's a very scarey and silent disease. I can't wait to see what all is in this book.
