Fall Quilt Market 09 Part 3

So I'm going to do a 4 part thing because I have too many good pictures and I don't want to leave any out.

This post is all about the Free Spirit/Westminster girls. Starting out with Heather:

I got to know Heather last Fall Market (getting lost and hanging out in Houston for a night) and I have to say I just love her! I asked her at that Market, why she has never had a booth. She said it was because she knew that once she committed to doing one that it would have to be done just right and that it was going to be a A LOT of work. Well...She was right, but all I can say is WOW! Her booth design was incredible and her sweet Husband Isaac almost worked himself to death getting it assembled, but he survived and they won first prize for the best booth! Her fabric is as beautiful as ever and her new patterns are amazing! It's all on my Christmas wish list.

I could have moved right in...

Yes, that is real grass...

Love the critters...

This is what it looks like when a really tall person stands next to a really short person...

Next, let's just say I'm in LOVE with Amy's new line. Amy is always so nice and so gracious. She really is a fabric genius and this time she has really done it! The colors and prints are so vibrant and beautiful! I love it so much, that I'm going to use in my next pattern line and booth design. Oh, I can't wait to sew with this stuff...

Amy won second prize for her booth design!

I think this is my favorite print.

She always has fresh cut flowers that match her booth.

I just realized that I didn't get a picture of Amy herself! What was I thinking? Sorry Amy, I'll get you next time!

And now for the Fabulous Anna Maria! She just had her 6th baby, but there she was with a booth, beautiful new fabric, patterns, and 2 of her kids! I am amazed at the things she can accomplish while raising a young family. She is always so sweet and fun to talk to . She really is an inspiration to mommy's everywhere:

Here is her little guy. Isn't he cute!

I love all the rich colors!

ADORABLE!!!

I had a little contest at Market and forgot to announce the winner on Oct. 26th like I promised. So here it is now! The winner of a sample set to display in her Quilt shop Donna's Quilt Studio in New Zeland! She and her beautiful daughter stopped by my booth a couple of times to chat and they are both so, so nice. I wish I would have taken a picture of them. They are very deserving of the prize and I hope it really helps boost some pattern sales. Congrats!

Fall Quilt Market 2009 - Part 2...My Aunties!

I think I'm going to make this a 3 part thing and focus on my Aunts this time. My amazing, wonderful, sweet, loving, funny, deliriously crazy aunts!

Lila, of course ROCKED quilt market with her new line Eden. Check out this awesome painting she did!

She might not like me for this, but do you think she should do more paintings and offer them for sale? I do!!! Maybe she could do a bunch to match each fabric line! If you agree with me post a comment here so I can pass it along.

I asked her if I could have it, but she won't give it to me. She said her daughter Paige has dibs (whatever!), but she did say she would paint something custom for me if I sew some clothes for her sweet little grand baby. I'm thinking up something good, probably to match her next line. Ohhhh it's yummy!

Love, love, love this bedding! This is the stuff that got me sewing in the first place. She has always had the most amazing bed sets. I cannot wait to sew the pillows up for my girls room.

Here she did her old Soiree Quilt in Eden

And of course the fabulous Stella!

Lila and Laura (my other aunt and her sister) They are both so beautiful

Lucy (Lila and Laura's little sister, my aunt and past helper in my Pink Fig booth) had a new booth with BOYS patterns. She was the Bomb! Here it is, Hot Scott Patterns:

She has 3 darling boys of her own so there was a lot of inspiration behind her designs.

Oh my gosh...I loved this bull dog!

Lucy and her fabulous assistant Jenny. You girls are gorgeous!

Don't forget to check out her web site and order lot's of patterns! You all know you have been begging for boys stuff and she delivered :)

And the last shot of us all...well almost all of us. Kara was off getting the Uhaul so she's going to get an exclusive glamour shot below:

I've got to tell you Kara, you're kind of making me want to get a faux hawk! (Did I mention that she does my hair?) You are a total Rock Star!

That's it for our gang! Aren't they amazing? We had so much fun in Houston together and we are so thankful for our helpers and for that fact that they didn't abandon us after the first day. We made them work, sweat, starve, and go on little to no sleep. We made them join us on an adventure in Houston where we were lost for hours, talking, laughing, getting mad, frustrated, and hungry, then finally arriving at our destination (Walmart) at midnight! We made them unpack boxes, hang curtains, dress mannequins, fetch us diet cokes, stand in our booths for hours on end and talk to every single person who stopped by with a big smile on their face. Then when it was all over we made them take it all down, pack it in the Uhaul, drive to the hub only to miss the deadline to ship our boxes, beg the girl to let us ship under my account, write with crazy mad speed all of our addresses on the packaging slips, load 30 boxes into the Uhaul truck making the driver 1 hour late for his drop off (he was mad until we tipped him!), then finally eat our last dinner together at about 10pm. They thought they were coming for a good time and the opportunity to mix and mingle with all the creative minds in our industry, but no. They worked their little hinney's off and in the end they all said they wanted to do it again! CRAZY, CRAZY people I tell you! Who in their right mind would want to do it all again?

Fall Quilt Market 2009 - Part 1

This is my booth. It had a little make over from the last market in Pittsburgh, but I still have a few more upgrades in mind for the next one. Like a better way to display my logo and a better clothing rack. I did add a digital frame this time that flashed through all of my previous designs and it worked out pretty good. People would stop for a treat and watch a few clips then we would chat just like you would in your own living room.

I made these chair covers that everybody seemed to like and they kept asking me to make a pattern for it. I'm thinking I might...for all the money in the world. If somebody could round that up for me and deposit it into my pay pal account, I'll get started.

I had these adorable buckets made to hold my patterns. Click HERE to get one for yourself:

Here are a couple of different versions of some of my new patterns:

I had another Nie Nie Skirt with the Olivia Top, but Holly bought it right out of my booth! It was made from Patty's Mezzanine fabrics. If you want to see it in person stop by Pine Needles in Gardner Village. Don't forget to pick up the pattern and a ton of fabric while you're there!

And last but not least, me and my loyal helper Kara. She is the bomb and I could not have done it without her!

Quilt Market was awesome! Houston was humid and I think we hold the record for getting lost the most out of anyone in the history of this world. That place is c r a z y. Thankfully the wonderful people in Houston took pity on us many times and by some miracle it all came together. I have a lot of stories to tell, but we'll save those for the full QM report coming in a few days. I still need to edit the rest of my pictures, fill some ordres, and get a few more good nights sleep before I attempt to write it all out.

Now to announce the winners of the contest!!!

Congrats to:

The Montalbos who won a custom made Nie Nie skirt!

Sarah Phipps, Vik, and Amy who won a pattern pack of all of my new patterns!

Send me an email to vintagechicboutique@comcast.net so I can get some info.

YiPee!

Oh! My friend Melanie is giving away some of my patterns on her blog! Check it out HERE.

WIN a custom made Nie Nie Skirt! Oh yes, I am giving one away! Now, you might not get it until Thanksgiving, but you will get it and it will be CUTE! And when you win, you will be doing this...

this...

and maybe even this...

Or maybe not... but you will definitely be thinking about how you use to be able to do stuff like that!

I was going to wait until after market to do a giveaway, but everyone else is doing them and I'm feeling a little left out. Besides that, my husband just told me I'm crazy. You might agree if you lived with us over the last few days, but I think it's YOU who is crazy! I just did my second drop off at UPS/USPS in the last 2 days where I sent a total of 65 packages filled with my new patterns. I almost fell asleep today at one point when I was counting patterns for an order, my arms and back are sore, and I haven't sewn one single thing in 3 days, but I wouldn't have it any other way! Thank you so much for the amazing response to my new pattern line. I feel very blessed and excited. So I'm going to give away one custom made Nie Nie skirt and 3 Pattern Packs that will include all of my new patterns. You can enter by leaving me a comment here until midnight October 12. I will announce the winner on the 14th when I get home.

Now I have really got to sew some stuff and get ready to go to Houston so no more blogging until it's over and done.

HUGS and KISSES to you all :)
