Cuppy Cake Dress in Silk!

I couldn't be happier with the way this dress and the pictures turned out! I have been working with Brewer creating Dupioni silk samples of some of my favorite patterns. This one is the Cuppy Cake dress, sewn and photographed by my incredibly talented friend Amie of Princess Picasso.

I am thinking of carrying a small selection of Brewer silks in my boutique. What do you think? I think it gives the clothing a formal and more sophisticated look. Perfect for the Holiday's, a wedding, or any special occasion!

On a side note...2 weeks from today I'll be on my way to the Festival of Quilts in England! Be sure to check in for a fun travel log, an exciting giveaway, and more...much, much more!

Nie Nie Skirts!

Semi-Custom made Nie Nie skirts are now available in my boutique! Like this one:

I also have plans to get some Nie Nie Skirt pattern Kits listed. Soon, I promise.

Speaking of Nie Nie, have you been over to read her blog lately? She makes me laugh out loud.

Oh, and have you been over to Lila's blog in the last few days? She has a giveaway posted and it's pretty sweet!

As for me, I have waaaay to many things going on right now. What am I thinking?

I leave for the Festival of Quilts in England in just a few short weeks and I am finally starting to freak out. I'm excited, scared, and pretty much in a full on panic. But, I do have a fun thing planned for that trip that will include YOU, so stay tuned.

I am also trying to get my boutique going. I mean really going, and to be honest it's hard when I am also trying to do about 50 other things at the same time. Again...what am I thinking?
I really don't know. I need some ice cream or chocolate and my house is completely void of both. My computer is running slow and I want to punch it.

Is 11:00p.m. too late to go to the store?

Something For Everyone!

For all of you non-sewers, I have something for you! For the first time in a really, really long time, I will have ready to wear boutique clothing available in my shop. I am starting out slow, but if all goes well I should have a nice assortment for you to choose from in the next couple of months. First up is a Girly Skirt and the Olivia Top (each piece is sold separately).

The Girly skirt is made from one one my favorite prints, featuring 2 peacocks in a beautiful ornate design. I call it "Love Birds". The Olivia top (shown) is a beautiful white peasant top that can be a basic piece to go with everything in your Pink Fig collection.

There will be a limited number of the skirt made in sizes 12 months to 10 years. You can pre-order now on my site, but they won't be ready to ship until August 1st. Check back for another skirt in a couple of weeks!

More Miss Modd

Here it is again! This is probably the last peek until the real stuff arrives.

The dress is a little off scale, but you get the idea. I should have some fabric in September, so I'll do a little giveaway then and I'll hopefully have some cute things sewn up to give you some ideas.

For my followers, this blog is acting super weird with my followers gadget. Sometimes it's there and sometimes it isn't. Some of you are having a hard time finding me and others go right to it!

This is what I think needs to be done: If it says Pink Fig Design in your Blogs I'm Following list, then you're probably fine. If it says Vintage.Chic, then I'm guessing you need to click on the Follow Me link to the right and add yourself again. Sorry to be such a pain! If you don't mind posting a comment here telling me either, it's all good, or it's all messed up, I would appreciate it. That way I can get it working faster. Thanks!!!

vcbdesign.blogspot.com is now pinkfigdesign.blogspot.com

It's finally official!

My first line of fabric will debut at the October Quilt Market in Houston! The final prints have been accepted and plans for a booth are making their way into my dreams when I sleep. Of course most of them are really weird and I wake up having a panic attack. Like I forgot to bring anything with me, so I'm just standing in my booth holding up scraps of fabric with a funny smile on my face. Or I sewed all of my pattern samples inside out, so you can only see the back of the fabric and the insides of my patterns! Don't worry, this kind of thing happens to me before every market and somehow, it all works out...more or less.

To ease my fears and maybe even yours I have quick peek for you of a quilt I designed out of Miss Modd. The best part is, it's free! Yep a free downloadable quilt that will soon be available on the Henry Glass website.

Here is a mock up of one of my spring patterns done up in the line.
Miss Kitty and Rosie Posie:

I'll try to get some more stuff up for you soon. I plan to have at least 2 new patterns done this fall with Miss Modd and maybe a little something extra. That is if I have time to squeeze it all in. I tend to over do it and try for too much and my family has been scolding me. I promised them I would tone it down, but sometimes I just can't help it! Is there some sort of therapy out there for people like me? If you know of a home remedy or a yoga move I can do to chill myself out can you please share it?

On a side note, you may have noticed that my logo has changed. With the new line of fabric on it's way, pink fig patterns still going strong, and the fact that vintage chic boutique is almost completely non existant, I decided it was probably time to change the name of my blog. I really didn't think it would ever come to this and I hoped I could hold onto my old ebay seller ID forever, but I think it's time. I know it's a pain and might confuse those who haven't stopped in for awhile, but I have just got to do it! So mark you tabs or however you find this blog because vcbdesign.blogspot.com will now be pinkfigdesign.blogspot.com
I thought keeping everything pink fig would be the easiest.
