Stack O Samples...

- and that is only half of it! In past Quilt Markets I have displayed samples of all of my patterns old and new, but this time I around I decided to just go with the new. Between my booth and the Distributor booths I will have sewn a total of 24 outfits - Ouch! Which means I have a lot of cute things laying around, too much to keep in this little house of mine. Soooo I think I will give away a Nie Nie skirt when I get home and have a sample sell in my Etsy shop. Check back in a couple of weeks for the giveaway and an update on what will be sold.

On a side note, I shipped all of my boxes to Houston today and that felt good. Really good, like the world was just lifted of my shoulders. Now I can relax...a little. The new patterns are here and in the process of being stuffed so those of you who pre-ordered will be getting them soon.

Well, I'm off to tackle a mountain of laundry that is currently occupying my bed.

I'm at that point where I would rather be doing anything than sewing. I get like this after I've been cooped up in my sewing room for days on end. I find myself doing odd little things like cleaning out the garage, dying my hair, making yummy treats, blogging. Things that I should most definitely not be doing right now. Just before spring market in May I was digging around in my garage and found my old art portfolios from high school and college. Inside one of them was this:

I forgot that I even knew how to paint! I think I did this when I was 18, but I haven't done anything since. I even tried to sell it once in a garage sale. Can you believe that? What in the world was I thinking? Luckily, nobody bought it.

My husband thought it was a shame to have it hidden in the garage so I decided to hang it in the kids bathroom to brighten it up. I was just in there cleaning and noticed it on the wall and since I am looking for anything to do other than start a new outfit, I decided I would share it with you. I have some other pieces of art that I might show one day if I can get up the nerve, but this one is definitely my favorite.

My boys love this nasty skull I drew when we were working on still lifes in art class, but I don't think I'll post that because it freaks me out! Well...maybe for Halloween.

(Note: If you have ready this post previously, you might notice that the first picture is different. Funny story - I had a picture of a lady with some crazy hair on here and it scared my daughter. She didn't like looking at it so I changed it. Not that you care, but I just thought I would mention it, just in case you did...care :) Besides, this is much closer to the real thing.)

I have a recipe...

for how to wake up looking like this.

1. Start on a Monday. Average 4 hours of sleep a night for 6 nights in a row.
2. Live on a diet of Diet Coke, Sour Patch Watermelons, and Raisinettes.
3. Sew a total of 36 ruffles onto 6 Nie Nie Skirts.
4. Buy an Air Step that guarantees to you to loose 10 lbs or 10 inches in 10 days from that stupid commercial that kept replaying all week.
4. Fall asleep while unpicking a mistake and while watching yet another infomercial on Sheer Cover Makeup at 5am. - (I think I might need to order that.)
5. Wake up

I have had this picture stored on my computer for a while now and I've been meaning to blog about it. These adorable little animals can be found HERE on etsy. Aren't they cute? We can't have pets because I'm allergic so I'm always looking for things to satisfy my kids need for a pet. We just might have to get one. I think my favorite is the bunny and they come in Momma and Baby sizes.

I really did wake up with some pretty funky hair this morning and an Air Step on my front porch!

Seriously though...I do love ruffles, but not as much as I use to. I think I need a break from gathering for at least a year! Here's a picture of 4 of the 6 Nie Nie skirts I have made for market and I still have 2 more to go. If I didn't feel so attached to them, I might give one away when I get home. Bribe me with candy and maybe I will :)

That one in the very front is made from EDEN. Lila's new line. It's really, really, really cute.

CRAZY...but true! I'm squeezing in one more last minute pattern. I had hopes to get it done, then I thought I wouldn't, but the idea would not go away so I've worked late nights all week on it and I'm so glad I did :)

Now you don't have to be scared when your Grandma says she made you a sweatshirt! You know the kind with hearts or trees stenciled on the front? Oh no, now your sweatshirt is the cutest on the block and it's so easy to make. When I was piecing this together it reminded of a scrapbook page. Bright contrasting patterns and colors, a classic black and white polka dot, cut out flowers and hearts, and lot's of buttons!

Don't forget the hood, lined in cuddle fabric! YUM.
